Take Note: Internal Hernia
I am sharing this with you for awareness. It was posted on the DS board as we've sort of "adopted" Jupiter but she is a RNY patient. Again, we always stress to be your own best advocate and this echoes that.

Well I know I've survived two bowel obstructions (not sure if they'd have been called "Petersons" or not, as they were pre-RNY), and I've always said I wouldn't wish that kind of agony on my worst enemy! That whole part about only being partially conscious? I can totally relate.
Her message is valid. If something feels radically wrong, it very well may be the case. If you can't keep anything down, even a spoonful of water, you need to be seen ASAP. It probably wouldn't have been out of line to call 911, for either this person or myself - especially the second time I went through it, because I recognized the symptoms right off the bat. Was just too embarassed by the notion of having an ambulance pull up in the driveway. How STUPIDIODIC was that???
Thanks for sharing, Amy -
Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
Hi Amy, This info is great to have, my pcp actually told me about this and she suggested if I ever have pains like that or odd feelings to absolutely come in. She knows about it and would be proactive. Or so she told me, it is good to have a PCP that is so well informed and willing to go the extra mile let me tell you! Thanks again Kristi
