Post WLS Therapist needed

I need to find a Post WLS Therapist that takes Health Partners. I tried Patti T.'s recommendation but she doesn't take HP.  Anyone have any suggestions.  Wendy

Try Lana Boutacoff, 651-645-7318. I do not know if she takes HealthPartners, but she is very knowledgeable about obesity and weight loss surgery IMO!

Sorry, can't really help you with anything specific, but, Did you ask the your surgeons office if they had a list of experienced therapists?  Or, did you ask the psychologist who evaluated you for surgery if they know anybody you can see?  Or, you could hit the HP website and access the list of covered therapists and just start calling and asking about qualifications for post-WLS clients.  Or, you could call HP member services and have them look through the specialties of their accepted therapists. 

I went to Emily Program - don't know if they take HealthPartners or not.

I don't know if she takes HP, but here is one I know of, Nancy Ludwig, MA, LP 651-379-0444  She is in Lake Elmo.

Emily Program does take Health Partners - but may have to do a special request to get them to approve it - not a big deal - just a few extra steps - call the main HP number and they will help you get the right place. 

However - I called 2 weeks ago and I don't have my intake appt until the first week of August!

I recommend that you call Lana.  I called her a couple of  years ago when I wasn't considering surgery and she referred me to someone that specialized in weight loss that could meet with me and took my insurance.  If she can't work with you (I think she mainly does evals) she can probably refer you to someone that can work with you.  The person she referred me to had immediate availability.

For the Emily Program, it depends on which office you try to get into for the wait.  I called Stillwater and got in within 2 weeks.  I've been going to it for a couple of weeks now.  Their web address is emilyprogram.com
