I'm not super excited about the venue this year as the Staring Lake Amphitheater is getting revamped. We are at Purgatory Creek Park, which is across the street from the SouthWest Station in Eden Prairie on Technolgy Drive. (13001 Technology Drive) This concert though, is worth getting to and I'll be working the sound. This is a FREE event. The concerts will be pushed over a large flat lawn, so you will want to bring a blanket or your favorite lawn chair. Lots of parking is available so you won't have far to carry your chair n' stuff.
You can bring yourself a picnic...or as many folks do, grapes, cheese, wine, and lapdogs. You know what I'm talking about, right?
The DATE: July 25th....it's a Friday, perfect time of year, perfect time of the week. Write down that date and plan on attending. Concerts start at 7, but come early to claim your plot and greet the sound guy.
There are concerts every Wed, Fri, and Sun during the whole summer. I'm working about 10 or 11 of them. It's typical Jazz, country, bluegrass, community bands, etc. The talents vary, but the one mentioned here is worth driving for, and then we can all head over to Brunswick or Old Chicago.
Yes, there are movie nights this year too, and those dates are Aug 15(Fri) and 16. It probably doesn't matter what the movie is, only that it's not going to rain.
See you there?
