This morning is my 1st day on liquid and already my husband in front of my has had 2 large bowls of cookie crisp. I have yet to have anything in fear that I might not do it right.   I know the next two weeks are going to be very hard, however I know the end result is going to be 100% worth it.  Anything that worked really well for anyone here? Thanks!

Drink, Drink, Drink.... I had to trick my tummy into believing it wasn't hunger.... the first 3 days were very tough but it does get a little easier after you get past day 3.  The liquid diet is so important to prepare for surgery- You only cheat yourself but not following the plan of your surgeon... You can do it!  It also helped to keep busy!  I drank a lot of protein drinks, they helped me feel fuller than water or crystal light- I loved the carnation instant breakfast drinks- I still drink the sugar free mixes in my milk to get the extra protien and calcium.  Best Wishes!!!!

Nice to meet you! WELCOME! Broth, sugar-free  popsicles --- make sure you have taste variety. For some people, the liquid diet is tough.... for others (like Darla, who I am sure will  chime in) it is an eye-opening experience. I'd say it was for me too. It really helped me see what it is like to live without food as a centerpiece. Good luc****ep busy and it will go by fast!

Definately the first 3 days are the hardest. SF Jello and popsicles are great. I drained the broth from chic noodle soup, it is much tastier than plain broth. Also, if you are super hungry and need something have another slimfast, boost or whatever you are taking as your meal supplement. Keep your eye on the prize, it is SO worth it!

Hi, and welcome........... SF popscicles were my life saver. And chicken noodle soup, drained was way more tastier than regular broth. For awhile when it came to the family sitting down to eat, I didn't, It was too hard watching them eat, I would go on my treadmill or just do exercises, or jump on here. Good luck, Kelly

Welcome, I found the LD a time to get my head in the game. I found it very empowering to have control finally. Remember the reason you're doing this is to shrink your liver to make surgery safer. Good luck.

No matter who eats or drinks in front of you just keep your eyes on the prize.  It's so worth it and you can't expect everyone around you to change for you, it's not realistic.  There wil be food and drink every where you go for the rest of your life.  You just won't be a slave to it anymore.  Good luck!
