surgery delayed, just ranting

So.... I had my last Nut visit on June 2nd and was told that I would be having it submitted to insurance that day, so I had my surgeon's appointment booked and everything was a go for my surgery in 3 weeks. I had been calling my nurse for the LAST 3 MONTHS to check up on my file and make sure all was in order and I wasnt missing anything. I was told I was set... so I call the insurance to see if they got my claim. Nope. So I called the nurse to see what happened and they tell me "we reviewed your file and we see that the psych you saw last august recommended a follow up". Really?!? Since last August you couldnt have told me that? Or the last 3 months I have been calling? So I made my follow up appointment...and they are booked until mid august. So therefore no surgery in 3 weeks. They said they are looking about 2-3 months now :(

You have a right to rant!  How frustrating!  Maybe you should contact them with a checklist and say, do you need anything for this, or this, or this?  See if there is anything else that may have slipped by them. Keep up hope.  It will be worth it once it finally happens.

Call they psych's office daily or weekly to check for cancellations and see if you can get in earlier. Is there any way they would allow you to follow up with another psych knowing your surgery is scheduled in 3 weeks??? Or, can you do a phone follow-up with them given the cir****tances? Also, the surgeon's office should be more understanding given their mistake. Keep calling them too for surgery cancellations and keep on them about moving that date up! Stay in the fight!!!

I would be furious...you have every right to be upset. Like Amy said...keep calling and hope for a cancelation.  I am so sorry this has happened to you. Good Luck!! Hugs, connie d

When I called and made the psych appointment I asked if I could get on a cancellation list and they said that I could only get on a list for one doctor. I asked if there was a master list of any cancellations for any psych and they said they dont have one like that its only individual. I would think that they should try to get me in asap since it was their mistake but it didnt seem like they were really concerned. I told them I was bummed and they said "dont worry it will happen". Yeah it will, but still this could have been done 3 months ago when I called and asked...and the next month...and the next. I am tempted to call all 30 psychs everyday and see if there is any cancellations. Maybe they will get annoyed and let me slip in :)

I honestly believe everything happens for a reason. Sometimes it is not always aparent why. I understand your ranting, I would be to...but look at the positive...at least your still in the ball game, and it's not the 9th inning yet!!!!
