Loving your body!
This is a WOW moment for me, all my life I have hated my arms "bat wings", when I had the RNY I said "the next surgery will be my arms" and I have heard others at group say how they "earned" there wings and I always thought; not me, I'm not keeping those wings, but yesterday it hit (along with a little help from a lady in the pool) I am finally starting to love my body! My arms are really not that bad, they could be worse, and I have come a long way, so why can't I wear tank tops this summer? Who cares what others think, right? Some people look way worse, but who cares! We need to feel comfortable with our selves, we did this surgery because we love ourselves and wanted to make ourselves healthier, so love your body too!
I feel exactly the same way. I am floppier all over, especially my batwings, but it does not bother me. I am sooo much more comfortable in my own body already. I have bought halter tops and tube tops and all those fun summer clothes, cause I, for some odd reason, am not embarrassed to wear them any more. I still have a lot of tightening up to do, and I have about 50 more pounds to lose, so I am far from skinney, but I feel good. Ok, naked is a little different story, but I am more comfortable less dressed. My boobs are another story. They are fine when in a bra, but take it off, and it ain't a pretty picture. Sigh . Gonna have to save pennies for an augmentation.
Amen sistah! I am three years out and have discovered that over time, the flabbies have tightened themselves up on their own. Yes, I have a mild case of batwings, but nothing I can't live with. The only thing that I may ever consider having "done" is the abdomen. I will only consider it once I have had a good solid year of consistent and focused exercise with strength training and cardio.
NONE of us will ever be a swimwear model, but we will still look great!
Take care,
J

HEY STRANGER!!!
Good to see you post! I'm PROUD of you for the progress you've made! And you CAN wear tank tops this summer!
Okay, that was a bit two faced of me, 'cuz I'm HATING my wings right now, with a capital H!!! But I'm pretty confident mine are WAY more pronounce than yours - I was much bigger to start out with, and lots older, so - yeah, they're sad. But I USED to wear tanks! I just saw a couple of pictures from this spring in short sleeves, and think I'll be keeping mine mostly to myself. But we all have every reason to show off the new US that we've worked so hard to uncover!!!
Sending you GREAT BIG HUGS!!! I miss you!!!
