will I lose more weight?   And see some change?? I know that banders and RNY'ers are different... But it is so hard sometimes to see the weight flying off of some people...and here I am barely changed at all. I know slow is good...and at my last fill 2 weeks ago, they said I am exactly where they want me to be.  I had lost 5 lbs in 3 weeks.  Don't get me wrong...I am SUPER happy for others that are doing so fantastic....but I am a result-oriented person.  If I dont see results I get discouraged.  My life is slowly changing.  I work out now at the YMCA...which is great.  I havent done any exercise in a long time, so it feels good to be active.  My back doesnt hurt as much or as often.  And so far I can keep up with my 9 month old.  I guess I need to just hang in there.  In my mind, I just pictured more weight coming off more quickly.  I expected to really see a difference this summer.  Anyway...sorry for the vent.  I love you all!

1st goal-  Get back to my pre-pregnancy weight!

Naomi~I am not familiar with the usual weight loss expected for those with the LapBand, but know that  your body is going to loose at it's own speed.  you have lost about 35 pounds, that is really great!  Somethings to look at might be are you eating enough and of the right foods (i.e. protiens vs carbs) and also are you getting in enough water.  These are just suggestions and maybe things you might want to review with your nutritionist to see if he/she can help you figure out what you might be able to do..  I think you are doing a great job and be patient we didn't get like this over night and we certainly won't be able to undo it overnight either (got that from someone on the boards, but I con't remember who).  Hugs and don't give up!  Nicole

Was the fill your "last" fill?  or at your last fill (meaning last time)?  The weight is not going to fly off for everyone and I believe that when I was looking at Lapband, it usually took twice as long but you could lose for a longer period of time.  And 35 pounds is totally fantastic!!!  And doing it slow is sometimes a better way to maintain down the line farther.   Plus you are working out and muscle weighs more than fat.  And are you doing measurements?  You may be losing inches you aren't seeing (cause you won't see the thinner you until WAY WAY WAY after others do). Keep firm GF -- it WILL happen at YOUR speed for YOUR body.....Do not compare yourself to others....that is a destructive path because you are not going to look or feel like others.  Not everyone is going to get into a 6-8 size pants.  Some will stop at 10, others at 18.  Either way you are in this for the health benefits, not the pants size. Continue marching forward, one foot in front of the other......

Naomi,
You are doing great! PATIENCE is the key word to remember with the band. Never, Never, Never, compare yourself to what others have lost - especially someone who has had the gastric bypass surgery. That can be downright depresssing, even though you know chose the right surgery for you. It will come off and it will add up - patience! We meet for coffee on Sunday evenings at 6:30 pm at Starbucks on Hwy 10 near Northtown Mall - a bunch of bandsters, to share info and support. It helps immensely to hang out with people who are experiencing or who have experienced what you are going thru. Please join us!! And, keep up the good work! Jean B.
