1 Year Surgiversary!!!

I cannot believe it.  One year ago this very minute I was on the operating table in the process of having my life changed.  I have considered this WLS one of the best gifts I've ever given myself if not THE best.  I have never had a single regret, not once and am just so grateful to have been able to have this surgery. In one year, the following changes have happened: Start size:  18/20 pants & 1X (sometimes 2x) shirts Size today:  8 pants & size medium shirt My knees or feet don't hurt, I don't get out breath when I walk, I can look down and see my feet, I can cross my legs, my thighs don't touch when I walk, I can do my treadmill at the highest incline for 45 minutes, I can keep up with my kids, I don't have to shop in the plus size sections anymore, I can often buy stuff off the rack or order online, I have more energy, I will be wearing a swimsuit for the first time in 11 years this upcoming week.  We leave for Florida tomorrow morning (West Palm Beach) and I will finally NOT be the Mom sitting on the sidelines watching her husband and boys swim because she's too embarrassed to wear a swimsuit.  I will be wearing that swimsuit and swimming with my family! Down 87 pounds FOREVER!!!  I may be 14 pounds from goal, but I AM WEARING A SIZE 8!!!!! I hope they show up but I'm inserting my before and after picture in this post.  The picture on the left was taken the morning of surgery - one year ago today.  The picture on the right pretty much explains itself....one year post op and LOVING LIFE!  Thank you Dr. Jones and thank God for WLS! Michelle, Congrat's on 1 year. What a ride huh? I went to your profile and looked at your pictures, WOW! Isn't it nice to finally be able to wear a swimsuit and not feel ashamed. I too am going to Florida the end of June, I can't wait to put on this bathing suit I bought. I was like you, sitting on the sidelines watching my family have a good time. Now we can finally join in and have fun.......... Great job, I hope to meet you someday. Kelly

Michelle, your post reads like a perfect textbook case of WLS - you look fantastic, and you SHOULD put on that swim suit and PLAY with your family in the water!!!  What an incredible moment that will be for you! CONGRATULATIONS!!!  And I look forward to meeting you IN PERSON someday, too!!! 

Michelle, WOW!  You look absolutely fantastic!  I can't believe the heels you're wearing in your one picture.  Add that to your list of things that you can do now that I bet was much harder (if not impossible) one year ago.  Have a great time on your vacation.  You absolutely won't be the fat mama on the sidelines...you'll be the hot mama that makes the other ones jealous!

Congratulations, Michelle, on an awesome transformation!   You are one of the many poster children for WLS! Thanks for recounting how this surgery has improved your life. It's always so cool to hear how folks get their lives back--or in some cases--actually GET A LIFE for the first time in many years!
