OT: My grandma
I just got a call from my younger sister and found out that my grandma has lung cancer. She has been having a lot of shortness of breath and when they did an x-ray a week ago they found something that concerned them so they sent her in for a CAT scan. She got the results back today and will go in for a biopsy next week to find out what type and what stage it is in. My younger sister works for a pharmaceutical company that specializes in oncology medications and so she has already placed a call to a friend of hers that is an pulmonary oncologist to find out what my grandma's options will be and what he would reccommend and she is researching clinical trials to find something. This is not a complete surprise to my family because my grandma smoked for 40 years of her life has emphazima and asthma so her lungs have taken quite a toll. Any prayers for her would be greatly appreciated. ~Nicole
I'm so sorry, Nicole - Your grandma is certainly in my prayers! That is a vicious disease, no doubt. My dad managed to escape cancer, but did have emphysema, which was plenty bad.
It's so hard to watch those we love battling the effects of their disease, so I will also send up a prayer for strength and peace for you and the rest of your family.
