Chewing Pills

Does anyone know if chewing pills (non-chewables) is okay?  I have been taking Citrical Petites and Move Free glucosamine/chondroitin.  I chew them up a little bit to help digest them.  Is this okay? I take regular chewables as well as some that are 'gel-caps' that I swallow whole. I just think chewing these dense pills is better than hoping to get the maximum value swallowing them whole. Comments? Thanks!

Well, I know that it's ok with the citrical petites, because I was told by my nurse clinician that I could dissolve them in my water to make it easier to take.  They really don't have a flavor.  They make the water a little cloudy looking, and the outer part of the pill doesn't dissolve, so that settles in the bottom of the bottle.  Nothing harmful though.  I cut all my pills in half up until recently, because I was worried about getting maximum absorption.  But it became an issue of feeling like all I did all day was take pills, so I finally started taking them whole.  It's much quicker and easier on my mind.  Anywho,  hope I helped a little.

Any pharmacist will tell you -- I'd start there.  I always ask my phamacist stuff -- just in case there is an interaction with anything over the counter with my meds.....happens more often than you think.  They are ALWAYS very helpful..... XXOO
