Good Morning everyone!  I will go ahead and start us off this morning.  Today I will...get in 120 ounces of water, go to yoga class, walk/run for 45 minutes, get in my afternoon snack before working out, get to bed by 10:45 at the latest, and enjoy a bit of relaxation time this evening!  Yesterday I...get in 100 ounces of water--yup, got in exactly 100 ounces, slowly reintroduce food back into my body--did this and boy did it taste good, go to PNC support group tonight--yup it was a really good group, get a walk in--did a 30 minute walk/run with 2-5minute running intervals, get to bed before 11 pm--got to bed at 11 pm,  and stay awake through the day (I am really sleepy)--this was a lot easier after my mid-morning snack.

Good morning!  I have my pre-op training with the nurse this morning (telephone call).  I'm not sure what that will consist of, but I'm excited to take the next step.  It's hard to believe that two weeks from today is my surgery date!  Today I will stick to my liquid diet and have 3 protein shake meals and at least 2 liters of water.  I need to work somewhat later this evening so when I get home my goal is to do some work around the house so that it's clean prior to my surgery rather than sitting on my duff and watching tv.  Yesterday I did stick to my liquid diet but I spent too much time watching tv and reading the internet instead of moving my body.

Your day is just around the corner!  I am sure your phone appointment should go well it will probably be a lot of what to expect sort of information.  I found that when I was on the LD it was a little more difficult to get up and going, because my body wasn't used to the drop in calories.  But I did find that it was easier not to watch a lot of TV because of the goshdarned food commercials.  Getting the house ready is always a good idea since it is a bit difficult to do a whole lot of cleaning that first week after surgery, plus it is always nice to come home to a clean house.  Good luck with getting everything accomplished today!~Nicole

Good Morning!!  My birds are chirping and the sun is shining.  What a wonderful start of a great day! Today I will: - drink water!!! - take the dogs to the vet and try to figure out a way to pay for it - get my statement typed out - boogie down the road to some great tunes!! Yesterday I: - work on ways to lessen my depression     I spent time with my kids - On the phone with Brie as she worked on the baby's room an din person with Brett.  Exercised more and watched Stargate in the evening so I wasn't as bored - I was able to stay up and even got a couple of rows done on my knitting! - walk     I made 7 laps - I went out twice to do it all though but that was ok  :)  I even got to walk one with my little grand daughter (not that I could count it with her pace  lol  Felt like we were going in reverse!  hehe - but she and *I* loved it!) - drink water     Again not as much as I should.  will mix up something good today and hope to get more in.  Also need to ge****er softener salt so the tap water is drinkable again. - get my statement typed up for work     I spent time in the sun making notes.  I got about 8-9 pages hand written but nothing typed.  I will do that as soon as I'm done here.

Hey Nicole  :) How did you progress from walking to jogging?  Yesterday I wanted to move a bit faster but I'm so damn scared that my legs will give out from under me if I try to run...  Did you feel this way and how did you deal with it? Just trying to figure out how to push a bit  :)  Thanks girlfriend!

I started with small intervals of jogging mixed in with my walking.  I started out with 1 1/2 minute intervals and then 3 minutes of walking and then have steadily increased the length of the intervals and lessened the walk time.  There is a specific program called "Couch to 5K" that gives specific times for the walk/run intervals and has you able to run 5K in 2 months.  You can always stretch it out though if you don't feel like you are ready to progress to the next level.  The website for the plan is http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml  I found the transitions between the intervals to be a little tricky at first, but now they are really very smooth.  I have been doing this for about a month or so.  I have found that it really helps to have some good up beat music on the headphones as well!  Good luck...it is amazing what a "high" you can get from running!  ~Nicole
