* gulp * I bought a scale!
WOW...I guess every now and then I have an idea! I totally understand the weight difference dilemma. I go through it when I go to the doc's office. I always feel the need to explain that I'm dressed, I've eaten and I've drank a small ocean in water and tell them how much my scale weighed me that morning. As if they care!
It's really hard to admit, but that number can be devastating or it can be joyous! I would like to think I am past the number watching stage, but I am so not there yet.
I love your idea of where to put the scale. You go GF!!!
Great big hugs to you,
Deb
My thoughts...
-- You can store it on carpet. Just weigh yourself on a flat surface.
-- I weigh at weigh****chers and I weigh at home. My scale shows one lb lower. I would use the one at home because if you plan to use it weekly, it will be a good way to keep track. I assume you won't be going to the clinic weekly.
I agree. Store it on the carpet and then take it to a hard flat surface for weighing. Once you get a couple weights logged in on the new scale I would use that one. I have never gone by what they told me at the doctor only because I weigh first thing in the morning after I use the bathroom but before I hop in the shower----bare nekkid-not a pleasant visual I know but I had to share. Ummmm...I don't weigh everyday. I usually weigh on Fri or Sat or Sun. Then I put the scale away for the week. But everyone has their own preferences and it is your choice to make.
Good Luck!!
Colleen
I'm with Barb on this one; find your receipt and take it back. I haven't owned a scake for years. I have one available at work and I use it once a week. That's been enough to keep me on track.
If you do keep it, have it in one place (not on carpet.) Have that place be somewhere you don't visit every day. If you are anything like me, if it's there, I'll jump on it every time I see it.
Take care.
J

Hello Darla! I've had my Sunbeam digital for about for or five years, and leave it on its side next to the toilet in the bathroom. It's accurate, and right in line with my GP's big honking one. The battery lasts about two years, and I've found no erroneous glitches with keeping it upright. What a slough of opinions on this, huh?! Starting to feel like we're all on Seinfeld! Have a great day! Hugs galore, Patti (I weigh first thing in the morning, nakey, after piddling to ensure keeping on track!)
Never let your memories be greater than your dreams.

I have a doctor-type floor scale. (Not the ginormous old fashioned type, though..) Anyway, I use it daily to keep me on the straight 'n narrow. I do compare it to my physician's scale when I go for my B12 shot and adjust my scale accordingly. Mine is seldom off but for a 1/2 lb or so. I keep this scale in my bedroom--which has hardwood floors. In my old apartment, which had carpeting, I kept the scale on an old cabinet door as a hard surface.
The REAL truth comes out when I donate blood plasma. They have an electric, extremely accurate scale. Luckily--my scale usually coincides with that scale!! WHEW!
