New Avatar - Things are GREAT!
Its been a while since I've posted. SO I thought I'd take a couple of minutes and update on my life and my journey.
As of this morning I weigh 169 lbs. I just cannot believe how great I feel! Went to buy a new pair of shorts and fit into a size 8. Unbelievable! I'm getting so many comments (positive ones) about how great I look. That is something completely new to me. I've been overweight all my life and always been the heaviest one in the family. Now I'm the smallest one in the family (my mom and sibs).
I had to force myself to get rid of all of my XL clothing. And everything over a size 12. Now I hardly have anything to wear. But I am enjoying shopping for clothes that fit - not 3 times larger fit, but ones that actually fit.
I've ditched the glasses and started wearing contact lenses. I've started putting on makeup. I get dolled up when going out with friends and family. And, as an old married woman, I've been incredibly flattered when I go out with friends and I'm being offered drinks and dancing. (I used to have a beer or two or a glass of wine when I'd go out. Now I only opt for water!!) I don't feel like I'm missing out on the drinking stuff at all. In fact, I can see clearly how drunk some people get AND I get a kick out of how ridiculous some can look! And I'm the sober driver which is just fine with me.
Now, to explain the avatar pic. I am not pointing at my lack of "top half". I'm pointing to the words on my shirt which say Mrs Gordon Ramsay. I am a HUGE HUGE fan of Hell's Kitchen and enamored over Gordon Ramsay. That is what I'm pointing at. Not to mention the fact that the shirt is a european size women L. Not XL, 1X, 2X or even 3X!!!!!
Life is great! My lack of presence on the website is only because I am enjoying the weather outside. And my work has blocked all blogging and personal websites. So I can't check in at work (darn!)
Looking forward to coffee this weekend. Hope most are able to make it.
