Why are we cold?
I don't know for sure but metabolism would explain why I've lost 104 pounds and I'm rarely cold. Maybe my metabolism changed so I'm just not so dang hot all the time. I used to suffer from that ALL the time. Now I'm pretty much comfortable all the time.
But then again, some that I know are always cold and have been that way even after losing only 25 pounds.
Maybe it's a combination of both? This will be an interesting post.....now I want to know too!!!
XXOO
I was having trouble with being cold right after surgery and still have not warmed up yet! A friend of mine that is 4 years out, said that I should be glad I'm cold because it means that while I'm losing I'm burning fat not muscle. I don't know that I believe that, but I am really curious to find out why! I still have 2 comforters and 2 blankets on my bed and still I wake up shivering some nights! (I sleep in sweats and socks)
I'm like Debi - cold more often than not. Granted, we've had an unusually "typical" Minnesota winter this year, and an unusually chilly spring, but I'm still sleeping in fuzzy jammie pants and a sweatshirt, under a sheet, blanket AND comforter! The UP side to all this is that I hardly ever sweat anymore! I used to sweat if I looked at a PICTURE of a bicycle! Now I can ride all over and not even "glisten"!
I would think PART of the issue HAS to be the missing insulation! But the metabolism is an interesting angle, too...
Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
This is something I have experienced BIG TIME. I had to go on blood thinners for a blood clot a few years before my WLS. I used to sweat so bad that the sweat would actually drip off me. Now I am cold all the time. When I saw the nurse at the WLS doc office he said.."Beats me!. ( but he says that about most of my questions). I know when I shake hands with people I have had comments on how cold my hand is. I wish I knew what was going on, but at least I actually am looking forward to the summer
