Thanks Reese..!!  My doc said exactly what you are saying.

I went in for an ablation last May and it failed, because my dr punctured my uterus.  So after that I opted for a hysterectomy.  Best thing I ever did!  I kept my ovaries tho, I'm 34 and dr didn't see need to take them.

A puncture is my only concern at this point.  Thanks Ms Paula...

I was told that she could try it again once the puncture healed, but it may not work, because of the inconsistence in the uterine wall.

I have the Mirena IUD and love it. My mom had her hysterectomy in her early 40's due to heavy, long bleeding and I know she never regretted it.

My sister is 45 and looking at the ablation procedure, so if you go with this, would you be willing to keep me posted on your experience? Much love to you, Dana!

My mom and sister both had to have hysterectomies in there late 30's and both of them said it was the best thing ever.  They had major issues with unhealthy uterus's  Since the doc is saying that I have a heathly uterus (almost feel like I am saying a bad word here...LOL)  I think I will procede with the less invasive way..  I will definately keep you posted.

The Mirena IUD was an option for me, but I wanted the hysterectomy.  But I do hear a lot of people love it.  Like LA said, the older IUD's do have a bad rap.  But the new ones, people are loving.

Dana, I had it done almost four years ago and it was one of the best things ever.  Long story short, I have not had a period in over a year (and none of those fun menopausal side effects.)  If you want more details, I will share. The big 4-0?!  You are still a child! Take care. J
