Changed goal weight, under 100 to lose

Well, to start off, I changed my goal weight. Not because I wanted less to lose,  but because I realized that at 180lbs I would be very comfortable. That's how much my sister weighs and some of my friends and they look great. For me, 160lbs would be amazing.... and I'll leave that decision for when I get to 180lbs.

When I changed my goal weight to 180lbs, I realized I weighed 280lbs. Today... I hit 279lbs, so I have less than 100lbs to lose!! That feels so great!! WOOHOO!!!

2019: 11 years out and maintaining a loss of 150lbs.

Good for you.  A goal is just that a goal.  Something to attain or strive for/to.  Plus it is your perogative to change that goal as you see fit.  It is your goal and not anyone else's.  You set your goals, not someone else.  Go for it!!  You're doing great so far!!  Keep up the great job!!! Keep Smilin' Colleen

I agree with Colleen.  It is your goal.  It's your body.  You know what you'll feel healthy at.  And it can always be changed - it's not written in stone! My doc set a goal of 160 for me.  I was thrilled that he thought I could get that low.  But as I neared 160, I realized I wanted to go lower, so I changed it to 140.  I am now nearing that goal and am considering going a bit lower so that my "cushion" of weight will be 135-140.  We'll see how I feel in 3 lbs.  Who knows, I may just decide to stay here! Doesn't it feel wonderful to have less than 100lbs to lose???  Single digits!! Way to go GF! Debi

Goals are great and since we make up the rules we can change them anytime. Good for you!

That's gotta feel great, Elena!  Just try not to fixate on a number - you don't know how much more your bones might weigh after carrying around the excess weight for years!    Just focus on doing what you need to do, and getting to where you feel "right"!  Then, make THAT weight your goal!  But it is definitely good to have a ballpark goal in mind...  YAY YOU!
