Dr. Ikramuddin is a great surgeon from what I know, you should talk to "Annessia" (you can find her on my friends page and PM her). She had her DS with him so she can offer you info on both subjects.
I chose the DS because it will offer me restriction and malabsorption, yet allow me to eat "normally". We do not dump off sugar and fats. We have a fully-functioning pyloric valve, therefore reducing foods getting stuck.
Feel free to PM me for any info and I'll be glad to share with you. I could go into more reasons why I chose the DS, but like Peach said, the board is healing right now and I don't want to add salt to any wounds.
