Sometimes I wonder if I might be missing a neutron or something, but I'm not sure I've noticed a definite "change" here - only what I consider to be the (more or less) normal ebb-and-flow of things.   Seems there's a drama every few months, I could refer to a few but I won't bother.  I don't think that diminishes the amount of information and support that is here for the taking - although it might make it a bit more intimidating for a newbie to get their feet wet by asking questions, and we should always be mindful of that. You all KNOW I have gotten sucked into just as many debates as the next guy, but we're all human, right??  I believe that we are ALL responsible for making the most of this community FOR OURSELVES.  Apply what we can use to make the most of our own personal journey, and just leave the rest.  I used to feel like I had to reply to EVERY POST, or the originator of a post I skip might feel slighted.  How insanely arrogant is THAT???   I'm here for TWO PRIMARY REASONS.  One is to receive support and information so that MY WLS journey is, and remains, successful!  Whatever tidbits I can grab here to benefit that pursuit are great.   My other reason is to provide support and whatever tidbits of insight or experience I might have for others who might benefit from them.  Everything else is just gravy (pardon the rather ironic term).  I have made some of the most awesome friends here, I wouldn't trade them for ANYTHING!  Heaven knows I go off on an unrelated-to-WLS tangent on a regular basis, I love to joke and laugh at least as much as the next guy!  But yes, the primary reason for being here is to be ever-mindful of what I need to be successful with my tool.    I also applaud what Michelle said about the delivery of information and advice - although we like to refer to the occasional "ass-kickin'", I think it should come from a place of compassion, and preferably when directly or indirectly asked for.  Not out of the blue. LOVE EVERYBODY!!!

i agree.  the board has changed somewhat since I first came here.  I lurk here everyday and while I have never been a big poster to this board, over the last few months/weeks I have wanted to post, but hesitated.  I am trying to work the tool to the best of my abilities but I often feel like a failure because I have not lost anything for 10 months.  I feel judged because some may think that I must not be sticking to the rules or whatever, so I just read/lurk and usually dont post and have even thought of just staying away for good.  I am totally afraid of failing at this wl as I have in everything else I have ever tried since I was a preteen.  I am not jealous of others success on the contrary, I look up to those successful folks but I was turned off by the comments about success and following the rules.  Like Michelle said, it's really sad how the board has changed over time.

Hi Mary Lou I feel sad you dont post.   I wish you would but you have to know that ( for myself ) it would be impossible not to tell you to knock off what your doing or not doing. The isle of denial is not a good place...for me it was the scale avoidance and food intake. ( before surgery ) I know you also dont want to post and feel beat up on.   Truth hurts somtimes.... no one would be mean just to be mean.... I wouldnt atleast. The wonderful thing about this surgery is its never to late to start losing again.  Back to basics.. you cut that food out for how long? You can do it again. Dont know if that made any sense or helps at all.. I tried  :)

Hugs and dont be a stranger.. why not come to Stillwater to firm up some friendships???

I have been on this board about 5 years now and I have seen alot.  I have not been able to be on the board much in the last few months, so I've missed alot of the recent history.  All we can do is make people feel welcome and be supportive.
