Options for Liquid Diet

Ok, so I am only 5 days out and so far trying my hardest to follow the liquid diet.  I'm not sure I'm getting all my water in but I really need some other options for foods besides yogurt, sf jello, sf pudding and Carnation instant breakfast.  Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?  When they say low fat cream soup does that include like tomato and anything that does not have chunks?  What if it has chunks and I blend it does that count?  Or Lipton dry chicken noodle soup, the noodles are super thin but I don't want to do it if it doesn't fit the plan.  I'm going crazy today, I really want a bag of chips and dip but need some other options.   Thanks for your help, Robyn

you can find soups without noodles (carbs) and blend them up - also - there was a mexican tortilla soup i liked - tasted like liquid tacos -  the good news is that you could also eat cream soups that you might not normally eat cuz of the higher fat/calorie count - cuz you can only eat a thimble full anyway.

popsicles saved the day for me and many others. do you do any protein powder drinks?

good luck.

The only way i can help you is to have you think on the bright side.... I am 6 days out and I have to do clear liquids for 7 days.... broth, juice, water, popsicles. I can't WAIT for soup!!!

Sugar free Life Savers Popsicles.  YUMMY!!!  They are my very favorite!  They made the liquid diet very tolerable.  You can make it through this!!!

Hang in there Robyn!!  I think the first 2 weeks after surgery was the worst part of the whole thing for me was feeling physically good but being so hungry and wanting food that I couldn't have.  I do remember having tomato soup at about this time and it was like heaven.

I still love Edys sugar free fruit bars, I love progresso soups, like chick noodle, veg beef, I would just drain the chunky stuff/noodles and drink the broth. Also Mrs Grass Dry mix, the noodles are seperate and you can just make the broth. YUMO I still do this if I need to get in liquids and want something salty.

I agree with Kathy, I think the first 2 weeks is the worst. I think you can have the noodles if you blend them up. When I was doing the pureed part cottage cheese wasn't on the list, but my nurse said if I pureed it up so it was thinner I could eat it. Good luck!

I strained any soup that had chunks - like Bean w/Bacon.  And I couldn't live without sugar free popsicles.

Hey Dear!  Try making slushies!  In a magic bullet their big cup fill 3/4 full with ice, then water and a packet of SF flavor like south beach diet stuff, Crystal light, ect and blend!  YUMMO! Add spices to the broth for different flavors. Add SF syrups to your milk, ect  AND WHEN IN DOUBT call Gina or whoever at the office and they will help ya out also!! Hang in there!  I hated the first few weeks after surgery since the head wanted food ~GRRR! Hugs
