Worried

So I've been following the dietians guidelines, besides my candy mess up last week. No pop, pack my own lunch, protien with each mean, fiber in my diet. So my worry is according to my scale at home I've dropped 6 of the 10 pounds needed for surgery (which is a month from Tuesday) but the scale at work says I've only dropped a pound. I've never used the one at work before.  What if I get to the weigh in and I think I'm down the weight but their scale says different? Maybe I'll go into my WL doctor and hop on their scale!  We have the Taylor body fat scale. Should I be using a particiular one, or just stick with this one? I'm not required to go on a LD and I've increased my walking over the past week. Any suggestions? I'm dedicated to this process and I'm not going to give up but I don't want to be thinking I'm losing the weight if I'm not.

Every scale is going to weigh a little different. The scale at the doctors always says I weigh 4 lbs more than my scale at home. If your following your program you'll drop the weight. Hang in there hon and if your still worried stop and hop on the docs scale just to ease your mind. Good luck!

I'd say just pick one scale and stick with it.  If you use a starting # from one scale and then check your progress on a different scale, well, you don't know what your starting # might have been on the second scale.

So DON'T be a scale hopper!  If you started out using your home scale, and IT says you've dropped 6 pounds?  Then I'd feel pretty confident you've dropped 6 pounds, ya know?  And in that case, the last 4 you need to lose pre-op is just a blink away!

The thing that helped me lose more than 50 pounds prior to surgery was information my psycologist gave me.  Make sure you eat your protein first at each meal.  Eat your morning protein within the first 90 minutes of getting up.  This and excluding near to all sweets.  Cut portion size (I used a divided dish used for babies.)  I know some doctors say not to chew gum, but I needed to keep my throat moisturized so I did chew gum. Hope these suggestions help.                       Maddie

This is a topic that should fall under urban legends.  I know of no one..(Especially ME) who ever weighed less at the doctors office than they do at home? It must be a freak of nature!!!!!

You seem to have a lot of willpower and determination so I think everything is going to turn out just fine.    That dedication will get you far and you will be ready come surgery day. (((Hugs))) Michelle
