Revison of RYN

hello i am very new to this site but how wonderful to have a forum to seek info/help. would anyone be willing to offer info or options to having a revision on a RYN that I had 10 years ago and have regained all previous weight back.  Thanks KirstenMN

I really can't help with that. I was just going to suggest asking about this on the Main Board. I also think there is a forum that covers revisions.   Glad you stopped in...hope someone can help you with this. Have you talked with a different surgeon or gone to any support groups?  connie d

i am going to an info mtg at HCounty in Mpls on wednesday as they require this to meet with a doctor. thanks for your feedback kirsten

Did you have an RNY previously? If this is the case you should look into the duodenal switch as an option for you.  I feel it is a very viable option for someone in your position.  There is a forum here on OH called duodenal switch and just start posting about revision from the RNY to the DS and see what comes up for you.  They are a very knowledable group and will be able to help.  It is just an option for you to explore. I would go to the revision forum -- there are lots of options --- DS, LapBand, etc. Good luck!!

I would suggest going to your original surgeon if possible and discuss your options.  There is a revision board here at OH too.  Personally, I would check out the DS...I wish I would have gone that route, but my insurance wouldn't cover it at my BMI, no way no how . I know a couple of people on this board have had a Lapband put over their RNY and that was done at Hennepin, I don't know how they are doing though. Good luck...and welcome to the board!
