Okay, after actually having real "hunger" pains all day yesterday and getting a little ribbing and nudging from Barb last night at the PNC, I decided that it was okay to get off the LD and eat protein that will stick in my pouch. Well, I had some yogurt this morning and decided to add a little of my vanilla granola to it - just because I wanted to crunch while I ate. What do you know, I went to get some deli meat and cheese from Target over lunch and I starting dumping. I know it's not the yogurt, because I've included that in my LD this whole week. It had to be the couple of tablespoons of granola that I threw in it. I've eaten this plenty of times before and in a much larger quantity and never dumped - so I'm pretty sure that now I've de-carbed my system that I'm more sensitive to it. Makes doing the LD a whole lot more worth while now!
I know how and when and what causes dumping can change over time after surgery, but I just didn't expect it after doing the LD. So I thought I would share.
I'm committed to cutting back on the snacking, grazing and indulging in the carbs and will fight with all my might to keep the Evil Carb Monster at bay. For those of you not at the PNC support group meeting last night, I came up with a new saying that I've posted on my mirror at work and plan to put on my fridge at home, it says:
Treats are okay, just not everyday!
Love and hugs!

Tracy,
Thanks for sharing this.........Maybe after my LD that will happen to me too...........
I'm so going to keep the evil carb monster at bay............Today went good, actually really good, I wasn't hungry till I started cooking supper for hubby. But stuck to my chicken noodle soup.
I'm glad the LD worked out for you. Keep us posted on how your doing.

Tracy....you rock!!! You are doing just great!! Thanks for the information. Have you ever tried Kashi Go Lean Ceral. Just the plain kind no frills. It has 6 grams of sugar in one cup. I use about 1/8 cup in my yogurt every morning. It gives me the crunch I want and the fiber I need.....protein too.
Hugs sweetie....connie d
I found out the same thing a couple of weeks ago. I hadn't done the LD, but had cut way down on my eating, carb intake, and was mostly eating protein and carbs. Wow am I sensitive now. I ate an apple this morning at work, and I got the foamy's and it revisited. I was nauseated for about 1/2 an hour. So maybe I'll have to try the LD... if only for a couple of days.. just to keep myself on track.
