Hi everyone, I have not posted in a very long time...  I am almost one year out.  I am down one hundred pounds.  Now what do I do?  I was consumed by food for years, then I took that away and now I don't have the weightloss to keep my attention.  Now Ihaveto deal with real life.  How do we do that without losing our minds?  I have never gotten the skills to deal with anything without food.  Now life is returning to what I guess will be normal for me.  BUt the little things are driving me nuts...  what to do?

I'm sorry, I have no advice for you.  We are at different points in our journey.  Congrats on your amazing weight loss.  I am sure there are others here that can offer advice.  Enjoy yourself and your new bod!

Sounds to me like you need a hobby!  I don't remember you, so I don't know your story, but for ME?  I figure the $ and energy I used to put into my secretive eating could go towards some other HEALTHIER passtime!  Could be exercise, some kind of craft, a volunteer pursuit?  I just think if you can figure out something OTHER THAN FOOD that puts a smile on your face, find a way to make it a part of your life!   (Of course, I seem to have become something of a coffee ***** but that's a whole 'nuther story...) CONGRATS on your weight loss!!!

First off congrats on the awesome weightloss!  Second  I would agree with Darla, get thee a hobby!  I am only 5 months post-op so this is just what I have learned on my journey so far.  I have found that I really enjoy exercise so I am training for a marathon and take yoga several times a week.  The exercise really helps me to destress and fills up about 2 hours every evening!  I am not sure but it sort of sounds like you need to discover or rediscover who you are, what do you like/not like, what brings you happiness and how do you deal with the stress of everyday life.  I would suggest if you have no clue what you might like to do try a bunch of different things.  Maybe take a community education class offered through your local school district or join a club (they have walking, running, hiking clubs whatever interests you).  I hope that this helps and you are able to discover something you enjoy!

Hello...it is hard to remember you with no pic.

Anyway....the others are right you need to find someything to keep you busy. Crafts, hobbies et cetera. I am on maintenace now and I think that is even harder then the weight loss. Alot of juggling to do so I don't gain or lose more. I keep very busy. I do more walking, spend more time outside, read books, go to garage sales, talk with friend, alot of time on OH....what ever it takes. This is a commitment for life so I need to learn how to do something else instead of eating.  I wish you the best...hope you can come up with something. Drop in here more often...there is no greater support then right here!! We understand exactly how you feel. Keep sharing those feelings with us...we will get you though the tough times. Hugs, connie d

I tend to have too many hobbies.  I am trying to learn how to slow down.  Someone make a comment that I need to find myself.  I feel that is a true statement.  I think that ismy goal for the summer.  Thanks for all the info it has really helped. I have tried to add pics and I can get them on my profile but not my avitar

To add a pic for your avitar, go to your profile and edit the section that has the picture in it.  There will be a spot for you to upload a picture for your avitar. Best of luck - and good job on the weight loss, so far!
