I will be two years out in July.... kept my weight around the 120 mark... This morning I did the cottage cheese test and could get in a half of a cup. Thats 4 ounces...could my pouchy still be only 4 ounces? I love it but wow...  I have always trained myself to stop eating the min. I feel full.....  I got up... ate it till I felt full... and then saw I barely finished the half of a cup. That rocks...... !!!!!!!   Just tootin....      Hugs everyone !

Good Wednesday Morning, LA! Will you please explain the 'cottage cheese test' for the average dummy---me?  I'm 3 years out on Friday and I'm interested in finding out just how much capacity my pouch has.  Sure seems bottomless sometimes! Like-- when do you start eating the cottage cheese--in the AM after a 8-hour fast--nothing going in over night?  In the middle of the day?  What is the procedure? Thanks and have a good day! First thing empty stomach.  Eat till full but not stuffed.... eat within a five min period. Get some small curd cottage cheese low fat.... eat out of the center till full.  When done pour in water ( measured out to I think two cups) till you have replaced in the cottage cheese what you took out and ate.  Minus whats left in the water measure'er and there you have pouch ounces. HOpe that makes sense!

WOW!  That is interesting to know!  I am just over 5 months out and can eat between 1/3 and 1/2 a cup of food.  Did you progress more slowly in the amounts you could eat or did your progression just sort of stop after 6 months or so?  I know that I wouldn't mind if my ouch never grew bigger than 1/2 a cup.

SInce my surgery I just ate till full... never went by "how much I should be eating at this time " I grew more aware of my full feeling.. I avoided at all costs stretching my pouch too.

Your pouchy doesnt have to get too big... keep it tight by never overfilling and youll be fine !!

Hugs

So in other words buy a really small container of cottage cheese because what you don't eat you toss?!?   I have to try this, it should be interesting to see where mine is at and this sounds very easy.

Good Morning Linda Anne!! You are my inspiration!! I am going to have to try this. I eat about 2/3 of a cup. My doctor wants me at a cup by 1 year. Seems like alot.  I quit when I feel full and never eat for more then 20 minutes. I hope I haven't stretched it too much. Guess I will have to wait and see!! Love and hugs sweetie.....connie d

Ok so I have thinking about this for awhile now and I've had a couple cups of coffee so why would you have to add water to the cottage cheese.  Why don't you dish out 1 cup = 8oz and see how much you can eat and what is left over that is how big our pouch is?
