1st dumping syndrome experience
So I won't be drinking those anytime soon! I am having a hard time getting my required protein in. All I am eating 6-days post op is yogurt w/ no sugar added and my 1/4 a tray of my Pureed meals each time, which has chicken in it.
Sat. nights epi has made me a weeeee bit leary to move on to Phase 2 of my diet next week though, which is supposed to be "soft textured foods". They say to do Phase 1 a week longer if necessary. Not sure it's "necessary" or if I'm just scared now.

I've heard this "NUT" person referred to a few times...who is this? LoL. I'm going to assume this is my dietician? I see her in 1.5 weeks. I've heard the SlimFast Low Carb are the best for high protein, low sugar. It had been suggested at a meeting I had to go to to drink SF Instant Carnation Bfast so maybe I should try that. Haven't tried any skim milk yet though...
I am quite anxious for more options of things to eat and variety, even if it is gonna be smaller amounts than I'm used to.
I've heard chili is a really good food to move on to? I was thinking of chicken chili though rather than that made with hamburger?
Yes, the NUT is your nutritionist (or dietitian). Try the SF CIB - hopefully you won't have issues with milk. I didn't at first, that has happened after I hit the 6 month mark. Chili is a WONDERFUL food. I put mine through a blender (actually Magic Bullet) at first to make sure it was small enough. I don't know why chicken chili would be any different, just make sure you have the beans in there as well to help with the protein amount. I have TONS of the Bushes Chili with beans in my cupboards - I can now make 1 jar last 3 meals - it used to be 4 or 5 meals.... Another good suggestion I have had, but haven't tried is refried beans with cheese melted on top. Remember - look at labels...higher protein and low sugar (whether it be pure sugar or sugar alcohols...they both cause problems for people). Best of luck, and keep us updated on how it is going for you!

Chicken or turkey chili is a great one to start with - put it through a blender or Bullet if you have to, but there's a decent amount of protein there. I believe Hormel (?) makes one you can buy if you're not ready to cook for yourself yet. And yes, Nut = Nutritionist, or in your case, Dietician. I would think that Boost definitely did you in. Read the labels, watch the sugars AND the sugar alcohols. You'll be amazed at the carb count in some of the things you THINK would be low in sugar! Sorry about the dump. But on the other hand - YAY!!! YOU DUMP!!!
Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
If yogurt is going well, milk should, right?
So I should blend my chili or am I okay with regular chilli but chewing VERY well??? I could live on chili if I had to!
I guess I did buy some cream soups and refried beans in a can so I could easily start eating those this week I would think...Yum!
Ooooooh, Special K Protein water...NEVER thought of that stuff! Thanks!
