...that was NOT food-related? How did you enjoy your time (with your mom or just by yourself) and not have it involve gorging?? Me: I went to my grandma's with my mom and we sat on the couch and talked... sipping sugarless tea. We just plain ol' talked!!

I got my nephew to help me get both mine and my sister's bikes down from my parent's storage shed.  Her's is about 38 years old (reliable old Schwinn) and mine is about 31 years old - one of the banana seat/banana handlebar kind.  We pumped up the tires and my sister and I took turns riding each other's bikes :)  We both decided to take them home with us and start riding again.  I've been meaning to buy a new bike, but I don't care if people laugh and/or stare at the old fat lady on the purple banana bike - I LOVE riding that thing!!!

Lois, honey, if you want a new bike, there's a VERY GOOD CHANCE you could take that purple banana bike to a reputable bike shop and offer them an even trade.   I'm not kidding you, those suckers are V.A.L.U.A.B.L.E.  We just bought Bailey a new bike on Friday as her confirmation gift, and in two of the three bike shops we looked at, the fact that her FIRST bike was a pink banana brought IMMEDIATE and very EXCITED responses of - "DO YOU STILL HAVE IT???!!!"  Followed by conversations about just how much KA-CHING they're worth these days!!! Just a thought, you might want to make a few calls.  I'm not Erik the Bike Man, I'm just sayin'...

Yes, I'm steadily hearing that my bike is actually worth a lot of money!  But I love that thing and don't think I could sell it right now.  Maybe after riding it to/from work a few weeks I may change my mind lol ;)

We talked about so many things and just had a great time. then we all spent the rest of the day together playing games and having fun. Hugs, connie d

My son surprised me and came home. He's been so busy at college, plus he has to study for finals.  We all enjoyed the day together, playing board games, taking a walk and playing Pig. (basketball) Then I made a chicken dinner with stuffing, mashed potatoes & corn. And for desser****ermelon. We took some pictures, and just talked. Then I opened my gifts from my son, He bought me clothes and shoes.... Yay....And they all fit.....He knows how much I like clothes now......... It was just the most wonderful loving day......... I slept in 'til 9:30, lazed around until noon or so (okay, I admi****ching FOOD PORN), and then came down to clean up the kitchen.  We just got our new stove installed yesterday, so Rich made me breakfast and brought it up to me in bed.  Trav gave me a card that made me cry.

After noon, me & Bailey picked up my mom, stopped at Bed, Bath & Beyond to get Bailey some new pillows, stopped at my favorite, Dunn Bros, to get a latte, then came home.  Hazel gave my mother an atomic face wash for the better part of 20 minutes, we admired the lilacs & such in the yard, then cooked dinner (steaks on the grill with sautee'd shrooms, shrimp in garlic butter, asparagus - and strawberry shortcake for dessert!  I did have some, but didn't dump. ) Then me & Trav drove my mom home @ 8:30, and here I am, checking my email and OH posts!  NICE DAY!!! Hope you all had a FANTASTIC DAY, regardless of your status as a mother or a person who has a mother...  (Rich has a mother, but we don't admit it often...)

I went camping in the Dells with the kids and hubby. We met my parents and Sister with her kids there and did all kinds of fun things for Mother's Day. I'm glad to be back.

I got a text from my son's GF  :) A call from my son! A call from my daughter! Roger and I spent 10 hours in the car drive to and home from Fargo to rescue 8 dogs that came up from a mill closing (YEAH!!!!!) in MO   :)  6 of these dogs have been mom to too many litters of pups... this is now OVER for them  :)  It's time for them to relax and enjoy life! While very stinky, they are some wonderful pups  :) There are 5 female Poms a female Pekenese and 2 male Chihuahuas. Here's the link to our petfinder page... I'll be posting them in the next couple of days when they are all cleaned up and we know they are healthy  :) http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/MN233.html Come check us out and if you know anyone looking for a pup - send them looking for a shelter / rescue pup  :) *puppy kisses*
