Well, surgery was a success! And aside from the back pain the first day and horrible gas pain yet today- I have no complaints! But gee I wish this gas pain would go away. I realize I will have no desire to eat yet I have to and that's fine but this gas pain is making my chest feel like its about to explode!!! And that makes it even harder to eat and I can't tell when to stop b/t the tightening in the chest or filling up of the belly. I just don't want to make myself sick yet not get in all my protein. I still feel quite loopy and weak and I think part of that is still anesthesia b/c I dont' do well with that stuff.

I have had a few of those "what the heck did I just do to myself?" moments today but I realize that will pass as things get easier.

But, on the bright side, I can barely tell where they "stuck" me.

Hang in there - is anyone here checking on you? I'd offer but I'm not post op yet so I don't have a clue on some of that post op stuff. Be sure to keep us posted! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

WaaaaaHooooo!  Another loser on the bench!  The gas pain will pass (literally) the more you walk so do lots of mini laps inside the house or outside if it is nice!  Glad to hear that all went well and you are on your way!  Hold it's a wild and crazy ride!

YIPPEE!!!   You did it!  You are on the bench!  Hee Haw!!!!!  I slept alot after surgery.  What your feeling is just what it is and it will be over soon!  Have you tried GasX strips..they have the type that dissolve in your mouth!   Happy Healing!

Congrats on the successful surgery. The gas pain will go away soon. Like others have said, walking and heating pads really help.

Best Wishes!

Kristi
