SF Drinks and your Teeth!

I went to the dentist today to get some cavities filled and decided to ask my dentist if Crystal Light and other SF drinks were as bad for my teeth as soda.  To my suprise he said yes!  He suggested I brush my teeth after I finish my bottle of Crystal Light to get the acid/sweetners off my teeth.  When I asked what doesn't hurt my teeth all he could answer was plain water.  Yikes!  So while he was out of the room I was talking with the dental assistant and she was glad I had asked that question because she just recently started drinking Crystal Light a lot more.  We talked about why I drink so much Crystal Light (about 100 ounces a day) and she said if I don't feel I can brush inbetween every bottle, because I drink it throughout the day at work, to just make sure and brush really good at night and then rince with ACT mouthwash because it will restore the flouride that the Crystal Light may have removed.  So, starting tonight I will be brushing extra well and then rinsing with ACT Restoring mouthwash in the hopes of no more cavities!  Just thought I would share with you all this little nugget of information.~Nicole

My advice? Whenever you can.....  use a straw... that's  a good way to get around it sometimes.

Except after surger (for RNY any ways) we are not suppossed to use straws because it puts extra air in out pouches.
