Pregnancy after WLS
Is there anyone who had a baby after the 18-24 months after WLS that would talk about their experience? One of the main reasons for surgery for me was so that I could eventually have children. I'm just curious how much weight did you gain during the pregnancy and was it really hard to lose after?

HI Kathy!! I didn't have one after that time frame but before. I got pregnant 14 months post op and it was a perfectly healthy pregnancy. No issues what so ever. I did however gain 45 lbs.....which 3 weeks after c-seciton I was back into my jeans. I lost every lb of what I gained. I am stuck there but have a beautiful 18 month old baby girl because of wls. There is post op pregnancy forum here...the women are great for support and or info. You may want to post over there.....you'll get answers from others who were further out as well as ones who were just a few months out.
Hi Kathy - I got pregnant almost exactly 18 months after surgery. In fact Michelle and I were pregnant at the same time. :) My daughter is now 19 months old and perfectly happy and healthy. My pregnancy itself was very uneventful.....now the rest of my life at that time is a whole other story. A very strange thing happens when you get pregnant.....some how some way you are able to eat more......its VERY strange. Also for me the things that I dumped on before getting pregnant I didn't afterwards. Due to my problems outside of the pregnancy I fell into some serious emotional eating. I gained 75 pounds while I was pregnant with Bella. One of the hard parts about losing after is getting back into the mind set of no snacking etc. For me my pouch went right back to its old self after I had her which was nice because if it hadn't I think I would have had more issues losing the weight. I am pretty close to where I was when I got pregnant right now. I am happy with it though. If you have any other questions or want more specifics let me know I will be happy to tell you what ever I know.
