This weekend and hospital packing

This weekend is our towns all city garage sales.  I sure wish the weather was nicer.  I am so excited about garage sales this year.  I already found a few things this afternoon for a quarter a piece.  Sunday I want to go and enjoy the weather.  Hoping hubby will be ok with goign to Albertville.  Walk and watch people and shop for some bargains!  Will have to see.  Need to keep myself focused on the prize and not food.   What kind of things does everybody suggest to take to the hospital?  I know I want my own pillow but I am unsure of other things I should take with.   Any suggestions?  Question Mark

Chapstick is a must!!!  I was so glad I had it.  Just remember that whatever you pack, you won't use half of it and your hubby has to haul it around for you!   YOU ARE SO CLOSE!!!!!  YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!

Anita, I brought my own pj's and robe to walk around in. Comfy pants for on the way home. I also brought my own shampoo & liquid soap, comb, toothbrush & toothpaste. Good luck. Kelly

Here is what I brought: Chapstick toothbrush/toothpaste shampoo/soap underwear comfy loose fitting clothes for the trip home (I wore the same outfit to the hospital and home again) PJ bottoms-I put these on the day after surgery after my shower.  That way your butt isn't hanging out too much when you're walking around. My own slippers-the sock type ones with grippy things on the bottom-Target has them for like 5 bucks mp3/ipod book cell phone Pretty much the same as everyone else's list! Have a great weekend!  Can't wait to see you on Monday evening! Colleen

I may be the odd one, but I was SO HAPPY I brought my back scratcher!  I get itchy (I have dry skin anyway), plus it was great for reaching things on that bedside table when I was a bit sore to move around much.   But I had a lil' extra work done, so that probably won't be an issue for you.  Still, it was a good thing to have!!!

Musts: toothbrush and toothpaste shampoo and conditioner chapstick lotion if you use anything special loose clothing for ride home (pants that don't button on belly button area) cell phone music if tv doesn't interest you I brought clothes to wear during the day.  They disconnected my IV so I could shower, and then let me put on my pj pants and a shirt.  It was great, and I felt a little more normal for the day.  At night, I pretty much just slept in what I wore that day.  It's not like I was sweating or anything.  I spent 2 nights in hospital, so 3 days wandering the halls.  Oh yeah, wear shoes that are easy to slip on, and that are comfy, you won't feel much like leaning over to tie laces for a few days.  My feet would get sore walking in stocking feet, so I eventually rigged my tennis shoes to slip on when I went for my walks.  But if you have good slippers, you will be fine for the halls, just remember easy shoes for the walk to the car as you begin your journey home. One bit of advice: walk, walk, walk,  It will suck at first, but the sooner you start, the easier it gets,a nd the better you will feel.  If I felt good enough to read, I got up and walked.  Usually each trip warranted a good rest, and many earned naps.  Oh yeah, be prepared to be awake at odd hours.  And remember, you can still walk the halls at 3 in the morning.   Best to you!
