Kelly......thanks for being so honest here. The last few pounds come off slower...that is for sure. Try to get the water in. That is so important in helping with our weight loss.  I agree that you may be eating more carbs then you need and that alone will trigger the hunger. More protein, fruit and veggies.  One cup does seem like a lot right now. I think you should talk to your doctor and see what he says. You are almost at goal that makes a difference too in the amount you eat.  I have to eat more now to maintain...... I am 8 months out. I try to keep it around 3/4 of a cup...sometimes a cup depending on what it is. I hope you get this figured out....however 4 pounds is really good!! Don't be discouraged...you are doing great!! Hugs, connie d

Thank You for the kind words Connie.  I believe in honesty, it's the only way. Yes, I think I have been eating too many carbs. I was getting so sick of just eating the protein, I never had any room for anything else. Well now look............I guess it's back to just protein and for snacks fruit & veggies. I'll call my nurse tomorrow morning. Maybe I should see the dietition again for some helpful ideas....... You've done awesome.........Thanks again, Kelly

You are looking fantastic so if you "only" lost 4 pounds, it is at least 4 pounds.  The body stops when the body is done.....And if you were at this weight for a long time at one period in your life, it may stall there for a while.  I haven't lost weight this past two months, but I'm still losing inches!!!   Also, the water is EXTREMELY important.  And you should be eating a little protein (yogurt or something) in between your breakfast and lunch, and lunch and dinner.  Even if you are lactose intolerant, you can drink other milk alternatives for these in between periods.  Calcium, Vitamins A & D and protein.  And the carbs with the hash browns and pizza are nothing but empty calories.  You should replace these types of foods with more protein.   And the 1/2 cup, 1 cup, 1/4 cup --- it is sometimes the consistency of the foods you put into your stomach first that will determine how much you eat.  I can eat lots of yogurt and runny oatmeal.  But put eggs or turkey/ham in first, and I'm full a lot faster.  Another reason for protein first.  How about fish -- I can only eat 5 shrimp at a meal and that is 15 grams of protein.  Turkey/ham has 9 grams of protein for a 1/4 cup.  That will fill you up fast.  Oatmeal for breakfast will fill you up for a longer period of time than the hashbrowns. Are you doing the tiny bites, putting your silverware down, no drinking, take 1/2 hour to eat without distractions, etc. And the no pizza and stuff from hubby -- ummmm no....you had surgery, he didn't. There is always going to be choices and it is up to YOU to make healthy choices for you.  It is not his responsibility or fault that you pack this stuff for your lunch and then eat it.   There -- you got ideas and a kick in that cute little butt of yours.  PM me if you need to talk.... Barb, I haven't been this weight since high school. I was 150-170 pounds my whole high school years.  I'll  try the yogurt in between meals, that may just help, plus it has protein. Yes, I've already told myself no more carbs......Thanks it helps to hear it too...... The oatmeal is a good idea for breakfast, I'm getting so sick of eggs. For supper I do eat alot of fish & seafood, Fish the size of a deck of cars or bigger, and shrimp about 4-5.  I'm doing small bites, putting my fork down ,( usually ) I never drink with meals or after, but it only takes 20 minutes to eat. Your right, I had the surgery, I have to take responsibility......... Thanks for everything Barb. Thanks for the kick......  Kelly

I would check with your nut or doc on what you can do to compensate for your lack of milk. Your really need it for the extra protein and calicum. Have you try the lastose free milk? I don't like milk but my body needs it and I drink Lactaid fat free and it tastes the same as regular milk. I add a little low sugar Hersey sryup not sugar free too much sugar alcohol makes me sick. Then I can choke down my milk. (JK)
