back from TN... update on mom
The hardest part was that the decision to NOT do chemo and radiation was placed on me. Even the doctor/oncologist spoke mostly to me during the meeting. When it came to making the decision both my sister and dad looked to me to make that choice. A part of me wanted to see if chemo would give us a few more months. BUT, the nurse in me knows that there is NO way she could handle it. And, just getting an extra 5-6 months with her, is not worth putting her through that.
I just can't believe that we had to have the conversation about what to do with her ashes... she's not gone yet! I had to fight back the tears when the social worker was asking those tough questions. I kept telling myself, "my family needs me to be the strong one." I now know what my patients family members have to go through. This is not easy; but with all the support of my awesome friends and family, I can get through this. Thanks for all your support here. I really appreciate it. I will try to get on more often. I know that I am so behind. One thing I want to say for sure.... CONGRATS TO LUCY AND RANDALL!!! Holy cow... I can't believe I missed that one. When is the wedding? Please let me know. Lucy, are you already moved to Alabama? I'm sorry I missed the details.
Love ya all!!!
