FUMC-RIVERSIDE ANYONE?
So I met with Dr. Lederer on Wednesday. I've chosen to get my wls care by him through Fairview university at riverside. I am very familiar with the quality of care his patients can expect at HCMC but I am curious about the care given at Riverside. To me it seems like a much more personalized experience. One thing was the info meeting I went to on Wed had one other person at it! My consult was scheduled to be 45 min after the meeting ended but one person didn't show so I was bumped up and seen immediately after the meeting! So far my impression is good. Does anyone else have any input or opinions about the program through the U at riverside?
Dr. Lederer actually did his fellowship at the U. After finishing he expanded his practice to HCMC and continues to provide wls surgery at the U. I had the opportunity to work with him occasionally at HCMC and loved the way he treated his patients post op needs so personally!
I don't know what it is like at HCMC anymore but I know when they first started the bariatric program there it was hard to even get into an informational session without waiting a couple of months. So in the intrest of privacy and expediting the process I chose to see him at the U. I never expected it would be so much more personal. He even said he chose to move his U practice to the riverside campus to offer a more personalized experience. I think this will be exactly the experience I like.
I think he is a wonderful surgeon myself that is why I chose him.....even after working with him..........lol.....he is wonderful to his patients but he can be quite a pill when it comes to working with him.......lol
I hope your husband has as good a journey as you have. Maybe he can see what it's like to be treated by Dr. Lederer at the U too...........
Thanks,
Heather
I had my surgery at Fairview Riverside, with Dr Lederer, he is amazing, as is the program, and his staff. My treatment at the hospital, once out of recovery left a bit to be desired.I landed on the 8th floor, because, the 10th floor, where they normally put bariatric patients, was full. It was not a pleasant experience. I am deathly allergic to codiene, and the put a HUGE red bracelet on my arm stating such, yet, I had numerous nurses come in to offer me tylenol 3 for the pain... uhhh, NO!!! I am glad my hubby stayed with me, and kept an eye on what was happening, just in case!
I finally asked, after they brought in the 2nd regular meal, if they had any idea how to care for a bariatric patient, and the nurse I spoke to was clueless, I also kept asking to get up and walk, and they kept reminding me that I had just had major surgery, well duh.... I did speak to Dr Lederer about this, at my first follow up, and he assured me that it would be taken care of, and no one else would have to deal with this situation, and I believe him, he takes care of business!!!
