Surgery!
Well if that wasn't something!
Went in to have my gall bladder out at 1230 yesterday and was home by 730 last night :) PAINFREE! Gotta love a wonderful surgeon! (*cough* Jay Lenz is a GOD!) lol
I'm pretty stiff today and gassy but getting around fine. Had the gas pain in my shoulder last night so walked it off. On normal food and good to go!
I have to laugh, St. Luke's is still trying to get into the bariatric swing of things... the nutritionist came to my room to ask what I could eat. She handed me a diabetic menu and had me pick from there. *sigh* ok everything was sugar'ed... so went for the roast beef and mashed with gravy. Figured I could pick at the meat.
She then wrote SMALL PORTION on the top... they were supposed to cut the portion in half. They only thing they shorted on the plate was the beef lol I had about an ounce of it. Good thing I was heading home!
Also got the results of my mammogram today... it was NORMAL - the first time in years :) It's never been cancer or anything but I guess I have lumpy bumpy breasts as they call them... probably didn't hurt that they now reach all the way across the plate *sigh* Easier to see through....
Thanks for the well wishes :)

SOOO glad to hear all went well!

Hi Lori!
Glad to see you're on the mend!
Yeah--aren't hospitals the pits as far as 'healthy' food goes. My MIL was given all the WRONG stuff for someone on dialysis. You'd think they'd know better. And everything was disposable--whatever happened to being 'green'? A slice of bread was in a plastic baggie. Go figger.
And congrats on the normal mammogram!

I am glad to hear that all went well your surgery and to be home and pain free is excellent. I agree that hospital food is the worst. I have not been in the hospital since my surgery, but I have my family well informed on what I can/cannot have in case anything should happen they can help to make sure I get what I need. Glad to hear that you had a clear mammogram that always helps make life a little easier.
Love & Hugs,
Nicole
Glad to hear that all went well.
Years ago I was in for several days and have an 8" scar across my stomach.
Dr. Jones was thinking...he hid two of my RNY scars in the old GB scar.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
