Well, I was sooooo excited to get the mail yesterday.   Found 2 checks in there which amounted to enough money to pay off what we owe in taxes plus have a little extra money to do something fun.   Yeah lasted really long.     Fast forward to 12:30am....my son knocks on our bedroom door and says I need help the basement is flooded.    OH man!!!   My 18 yr old had put a load of laundry in and fell asleep watching a movie.   She woke up and went down to put it in the dryer.    Well, the thing on the washer that tells it that it's met the water level and to shut off the water must've went.    The water was running and running and running into the washer and all over the floor.    We had water up to our ankles.    Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh sooooo the little extra money.....well let's just say we'll be spending it on a new washer this weekend.   This one is just too old to fix.    On a good note at least the money is there so we can pay cash for it and get it soon.     What a night!!!

Yikes!  That does not sound like fun.  Thank goodness for small blessings.  Happy shopping this weekend and I hope you were able to get your basement cleaned up.

Michelle, Yep, stuff like that always happens to us too. If we get back any money from taxes, we always end up with a new problem to pay for....... Sorry this happened to ya.......Wait till you go washer machine shopping, they range from $300-$2000. Enjoy picking one out. Kelly

I suppose you could go find a rock and beat clothes in the river... for some reason that doesn't sound to appealing  lol Sorry that it happened - life sure has a few curve balls. At least the weather is decent so you can hang out what you need to to dry out.  Flooded basements suck.  we go through it each spring as the back door is the lowest point in 10 acres...
