Check the expiration date!

The other day I made myself a protein shake - same as I've done hundreds of times before.  Within a half hour I was sick as could be - throwing up and also the other end.  I thought I was dumping, but then I checked the expiration on my milk (which I don't use very often) and found it was quite outdated (over a week).   I think I'm going to switch to soymilk - it lasts longer!   I made the same shake today with water and everything was good.  How stupid can I be lol :)

I have found that I have to check my milk often as well.  Just be careful with the soy milk because it can have more fat or if it has less fat then more sugar (I found this out the hard way).  Glad you are feeling better!

Thanks.  I found the lowfat plain version - so that should be good.

My stomach turns just thinking of that! Didn't the milk come out in lumps or smell bad? That would've been my tip-off!   I have a teenage boy in the house, so milk doesn't have a chance to go bad---it evaporates! BTW--I LOVE your new pic!  You look awesome!

I hear ya on milk evaporating in the house.  We must go through a gallon a day easily between my husband and 3 boys!

I don't think there were lumps - I probably would have noticed that :) lol  But I shook it before pouring and I never smell milk because I hate it in the first place.  I only drink it in a shake once in a while if I need the extra protein.

Eeeewwwwwwwwwwwwww!  Oh my goodness!  That is horrible.  I have a boy in the house and his friend over all the time, so it doesn't last too long here either.  Sorry to hear you went through that.  Perhaps start buying 1/2 gallons.

I already buy the smallest containers.  I just plain don't like milk so use it very infrequently.
