How to not eat when stressed?
Good question!
Some things I'm working on doing myself are grabbing a large glass of water, getting active, getting my hands dirty so I don't want to touch food... play with the dogs, make myself wait until snack time and grab protein or grab just a little something HEALTHY and not beat myself up about it. I also journal - that is what my therapist taught me to do... sometimes it helps and other times it just stresses me out more!
Laughter also helps. I think it releases some of that pent up energy in a relaxing way.
Best of luck! I'm there with you!
Eating at work when stressed is a problem for me, too. It seems to be ok for a while, and then it seems to be a problem for a while. I try to keep small portioned WLS-friendly & high protein snacks at work so I won't be tempted by the venidng machines or candy dish. Sometimes it's really hard, though. I try to "delay" as much as possible and I even forget about snacking sometimes. I also try to leave my desk for a while to run to the mail room or do another errand when it gets too tempting to eat.
Opps sorry forgot to put in the web site http://www.cookinglow-fat.com/snackhelp.htm
