Oh Lori!  I'm so sorry to hear this.  I sure wish they would make this a regular occurance with doing WLS right away, it seems soooo many have to have theirs out shortly afterwards.  Take care of you! Make sure someone posts that all went well afterwards.

I did mention this to the doc before surgery... it's not his thing to take it routinely though.  Like he said, if you can keep it, why rip it out?  Guess it makes sense... just hard to have to have another surgery what feels right away. I'll try to find an angel to post for me  :)  I"m sure everything will be fine.  I trust Doc Lenz  :)

I just had my gall bladder out! I was out of work for a total of 3 days and was fine! It was pretty easy! Where are you having it done? I had it done at St. Mary's with Dr. Monaghan. She was great. The worst part is the gas pan after! And my body didnt like the internal stiches. Other than that it wasn't to bad! Much better than having some major gall bladder attacks!!!

Hey GF!!  GB surgery is a breeze!  They don't keep you overnight unless you've had an issue.  You wake up and as soon as the groogy feeling goes ya feel 100% better right away!  I'll be praying for ya on Thursday! Hugs!

I developed gall stones while I was nursing. They wanted me to have surgery right away, but I wouldn't since my baby was only 2 months old at the time and you can't nurse for a week after surgery. I opted instead to do a gall bladder flush. I flushed out about 1 & 1/2 cups of stones. I just do that every 6 months now. I figure the gall bladder is there for a reason. Good luck with surgery.
