Gall Bladder
Last week I had a few pains in my right side... not incapacitating pain but super un-comfy stuff...
Went in to Doc Lenz and he sent me off for an ultrasound.. He called just a few minutes ago and says he's scheduling surgery if I'm up for it. Here we go again *sigh*
I guess there's stones and some type of sludge...
So folks! Who's had theirs out?? How long were you in the hospital and what was life like after?
I'm in jeopardy of losing my insurance so we are looking at doing surgery this week.
Any and all info appreciated!!!
Can't help you too much as I had mine out almost 16 yrs ago and at the same time as a c-section. If they can do it lap then it shouldn't be too rough on you....I bet you don't stay more than a night or so at the hospital if that any more. Keep me posted on when you're having it done...I'm assuming at St Luke's? My hubby works there so sometimes I'm there off and on...maybe I can stop in and see how you're doing. Good luck!!! Glad to hear you have a great surgeon working on you though.
Hi Lori,
Had an emergency removal on Mar 30th at Abbott. I had 3 large stones and pain on my right side. After the ultrasound they kept me in the hospital and did surgery about 8:30 Sunday nite. I was in the hospital until Tuesday at noon. This is week 4 off work but expect to go back on Monday. For me it's a problem with stamina and energy( I am good for about 2 hours then just beat). The doctor says that is from having 2 major surgeries in 3 1/2 months and having a very angry gallbladder. Poison in the system that needed to work it's way out, dehydration, and just plain feeling awful. I rebounded from my RNY in a matter of 2 days but this has been alot tougher. I think of myself as a tough old broad but this has really zapped me.
Good luck Lori!

Hi Bonnie,
Thanks for giving me an idea of what to expect. My Lap RnY drained me. I was fine for most of the day but at 7pm I was done. it was like my body just shut down. and I work nights... It will be interesting to see how it goes this time around. Doc said 2-6 weeks off. *shrug*
Hope you are feeling super! and that Monday is a wonderful day for you!!!
