Artifical sweetners

I had started thinking last night about whether or not to cut out all artificial sweetners and just go with using things like agave nectar and stevia.  The more I thought about it the more I realized all that that would require cutting out like the Crytal Light.  The more I have thought about it today the more I realized that I need to keep the artificial sweetners in my diet so that I do not deprive myself of something sweet and then end up overeating something really not healthy.  So, with that said I am going to make myself a little treat when I get home tonight so that I can satisfy this sweet tooth I have had almost all week.  The treat is called pistachio salad and my mom has made it ever since I was little and it is one of my all time favorites.  The recipe is: 1 box SF pistachio pudding 1 can crushed pineapple 1 tub SF/low fat cool whip

Open and dump the pineapple into a medium sized bowl, then pour the pudding mix on top and mix together with a spoon or fork.  Next spoon in the cool whip and mis until well blended.  My mom's recipe also calls for about 1/3 bag of mini marshmallos, but since I have never seen sf marshmallos I am assuming they don't exist and it is just as good without them.

Ohhhh...I like that recipe.  Thanks!  Unfortunately, they do make SF marshmallows.  But with all the carbs in them, you're almost better off eating real marshmallows.  The calories/carbs really aren't worth SF sometimes.

Yeah, I have noticed that too.  I have started to forgo the SF versions of somethings and just have a little of the real thing instead, plus those pesky sugar alcohols always get to me.

I haven't been able to find a protien powder that doesn't have a smell that gags me yet.  Do you have any suggestions?

Like you, I was unable to do the protein powders at first.  However, that was in shake form and before I found awesome recipes on the 5DPT link.  I just found "BodyFortress" at Target and Wally world that I like (FINALLY)!! It was $13.99 for a big tube which is reasonalbly priced.  Best to you in the trial and error!   Hugs!

Thanks!  I might have to try it although I was just thinking about it and I do remember one that I didn't have an issue with, but I don't know the brand.  It is a soy protien so it is different from most of the other protien powders out there which are whey protien, but it is whatever they use at Jamba Juice.  I am going to look for some this weekend when I am out doing my shopping, and who knows maybe I will stop by Jamba Juice and ask them what they use.
