Wow!
So, I saved an outfit that I wore last winter when I went to florida. I chose this particular outfit, cause I have pictures to prove how it fit. Today, I was standing in my closet, looking for something to put on after work, and I saw the outfit peeking out from the top shelf. I thought, what the heck, try it on. Yep, WOW! The shorts are 26's, and I'm now borderlining with 16's and 18's, and I just didn't realize how big a difference there was, until I put those shorts on today. They are ridiculously huge on me, and will only get more ridiculous. I was huge! Just about made me cry. I think the threatening tears were more from the relief of knowing that those days are forever gone. Maybe a little grief for the girl/woman who had to live that way.
Life has been full of wow's for me lately. I am wearing some 16's, and extra large's in tops. I have no memory of ever wearing those sizes, though I must have to have gotten to 26/28. I wrapped a towel around myself the other day, and it overlapped, rather than gapping in an innappropriate area. I also put on a regular sized hospital gown while at an appt the other day, and I could close it without straining the seams, and without it gapping excessively in the back. A lot of people are commenting lately on how good I look. Well, I feel good, and I know I'm looking better, but it's still a little hard to take. I wore a shirt to work today, that I knew was getting a little big, but again, just didn't realize how big until I was out shopping. I was trying on some clothes, and realized it would be the very last time I would wear that shirt. When I had surgery, I had to stretch the crap out of it to get it to fit half-ways, and tug on it throughout hte day. Now, it hangs to the bottom of my butt, and it just bags! Anywho, all kinds of wow's lately, cause now I really do see and feel differences.
It's nice to be able to come here to share, where others have been there, done that. And where others of us are headed there, will experience that. my coworkers and family and such just don't understand me when I get excited over something simple like having to move my seat up a notch in the Jeep.
Do you know, there is only one thing about summer that I am not looking forward to at all. I've never been a fan of it, but I have a feeling this year will be worse.
