Awww Cher, it will get better.  I can't relate to anything your going through but I do know what a sexy looking mama your going to be after the surgery!  I might have to start calling you 'sassy sista Cher'!!!!
Try your best to keep focused, try the different things suggested and it will be good.  I have a friend that told me once, "people get what they expect, so expect the best"!!!!!  I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Love ya so much!

Just focus on the prize!! The liquid is definitely one of the toughest parts. I had to do 2 weeks of it. But before you know it you'll be done and on your way into surgery. It defintiely helps alot with the transition, I think.  I definitely agree about the sugar free popsicles. I just missed chewing!!   You can do it!! Meridee

We are rooting for you!! I struggled that first couple of days but kept myself very busy doing things where I wouldn't normally eat.  It was tough though but I kept looking ahead rather than behind... like others mentioned the popsicles were a blessing.  I was/am a salt fiend so having that chicken broth was a life saver for me.  It was also something hot where most everything else was cold. Good luck!!

One last lil' tidbit - I always stock up on the SF drink mixes at Wallyworld - I know there are people *****fuse to shop there, but if I can buy a box of Crystal Light there for $2 vs. $3 to $6 elsewhere, Wally's getting my business, hands down.  They have some pretty good flavors of their own Sam's Choice brand, too (Cherry Limeade is one of my favorites!) So get a whole mess of different flavors to pick and choose from. You'll feel like you have a bit more control over your "diet", and it makes getting all your water in WAY easier!!

I love reading all the extra little tips this board gives.  Yes, I am just starting this journey, but the tips really help, and let me know what to do or don't do when it comes my turn.  I love the SF popsicle idea and I laughed at Edi's suggestion.  Vick vapor rub under the nose to take the "outside" smells away-  Very good idea Edi.  Good luck on the liquid diet Cherilynn-  you can do it, especially with all the help from this site.

I am going in for my RNY in less than 2 weeks and was looking for some advice on what to pack for the hospital.  I was wondering if anyone had some good ideas for me to pack along or some essentials I might forget.  Thanks in advance!
