A little "wow" for me!

Talking with my mom and I was telling her how I was looking at a pre op picture and how I don't even recognize who that person is and can't beleive it was me!! I told her but I remember being that person and looking at my high school pictures and thinking the same thing but it was in reverse. And I was telling her how looking at those pictures sadden me because I only remember the pain I was in emotionally and all. So she says to me: "Honey, that's because this is the person you were meant to be all along and you just shine now." I have been thinking about that ALL day about it as it didn't make sense to me when she said it and then the light bulb hits! When I was overweight it was a mask a role that I was in and playing. When I shed the weight I had to work thru all the hurt and pain that packed on the weight but made it thru and now I am free to be me! WOW!!! Sorry so long but I had to share! Love and Hugs!

Wow ......alls I have to say is you do SHINE. You are such a sweetie and you are always there for all of us. YOU deserve so much happiness. Being overweight takes alot out of a person physically, emotionally, and mentally. We have been in our own little worlds for so long and we are now finally coming out. You inspire me I love reading what you have to say. I am so dang proud of you hun and keep up the great work...... Hugs Marsha

Sandie, What a great Wow moment! I think you are right that being overweight is just a mask we all wear to hide. I know that part of me used to be so involved in theatre because all I knew was how to pretend to be something I wasn't I didn't really know me. This journey is not just one of weightloss, but also self discovery and healing. Thank you so much for shring this with us. I agree with your mom, you really do SHINE!

You are right...there have been struggles of many kinds along the way but you made it...I am so proud of you!! I am so glad I found me again too!! I remember her being so scared for you when we took our "before" pictures the night before your surgery. I am very glad to have met and spent time with you and your mom and I know she has to be proud of you!! I can only remember how nervous she was before your surgery and worried that you were doing something that "wasn't" necessary....I am so happy for you that you and she see all the benefits of the surgery! You my dear have done a FABULOUS job and I only wish I could be like you, but I am who I am and if I'm not supposed to lose as much as you, I'm ok with that because I am still more healthy today than I was the night before your surgery when your mom took our before pics. Your mom is a great person and I know that she only wants what is best for you! I also know that she and your dad are very proud of you!!!! Even thou they might not say it I know they are!!!!

I am proud of you too and I love you and ALL of your family!!! I am grateful that you have shared them with me as well.
