Ok so I had my 6month check up in February and since than I have lost 1 lb~ yep thats it 1.  Yet everyone keeps asking me if I am losing weight?!?  So I am confused can I really have this big of a stall? I worry that I am eating too little/too much.  I know I get all my protein and water in a day~ I track that and my calories are around 800-1000.  I exercise at least 3 days a week~ so maybe I am just toning now?  I guess at this point I am just curious!! I am at 221 lbs and so desperately want to get below 200!! I started at 352 so I guess I am doing really well but as we all know when you get a goal in mind you really want to reach it! NOW! LOL  OK I just thought I would ask and see if I am doing something wrong or what or if it is just a big catch up time for my body.  I know that I weigh less than what I did when I was 14 years old so that really is truly a huge WOW for me.  But to be under 200 would be amazing to me!  OK well enough and thanks everyone for such great support! I love this place! Kristi

Kristi, You have done wonderful.......But your right, when we have a goal in mind we want to get there. I'm only 3.5 months out, but maybe if you switched up your workouts, I don't know what you do, but try something different, like one day jog on your treadmill, then the next workout do on your home gym, or run up & down stairs, sit up's, etc.  I don't think your eating too much.......Maybe add more water? Hope this can help a little. Kelly

Thanks!! I think its funny  how we overlook where we came from and how well we are doing when there is something we want so badly!! LOL I should be thankful for my progress and I do realize that~ Sometimes! LOL  I will have to try the water and changing up my exercise routine~ maybe that will boost my weight loss!   Kristi

Hi Kristi......I agree change up your routine alittle. Eat more dense protein and get in plenty of water. Start walking more if you can. You have done a great job so far....the plateau will break just hang in there!!  Hugs, connie d

Hey Sweetie!  Keep doing what you are doing!  YOU ARE DOING great!!!  My 2 cents now! 1) people are saying that you are losing so that means the scale might not move but inches are thus the comments!! 2) From what I have seen and experienced, if you have been at a certain weight for a long time this will be the "stubborn, don't want to move from" point.  So if you want to bust thru this yeah, maybe up your water intake, maybe walk more but KEEP doing what you have been thus far because it has brought you great results and will continue to!!! Hugs!

Kristi, Couple of things come to mind.  First, YES - your body is doing some MAJOR catch up - it's moving all the "stuff" around into different places...learning to adjust to a major reduction in calories and is somewhat afraid of the fact that you're still "starving" it and is holding on to as many fat cells as possible.  But I'm sure you've heard the saying "If you're not lose pounds, you're losing inches" and I can't tell you how many people don't believe that until it really happens to them.  Think about what size you were in when your "stall" started?  What size are you in now? Is there a difference?  If not, were they tight before and now they're loose?  Try not to get too focused on that number.  If you're working out, you're gaining muscle - not only does it weigh more, it's better to have because muscle burns fat faster - so it's worth it to gain the muscle weight, because the fat weight will be able to go away faster eventually. The other thing that others mentioned is to shake up your routine.  Remember the old saying: "If you keep doing what you've always done, you're gonna get what you always got" OR "the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results" Try a new exercise routine, experiment with different foods, maybe up your calorie intake - sometimes just adding a few more calories can really boost the metabolism and getting it going again. With all that said - remember that you've already lost OVER 130 pounds in a very short period of time.  Our bodies will never lose as fast as it did the first 3 months of this surgery - it will slow down considerably and then you may loose 10 pounds over night - but just keep the pace - remember "a slow and steady pace - wins the race!" Good luck and congratulations!

Thanks Tracy~  I could just hug you!  Another so full of wisdom! I Just love you guys all to pieces!!  You all know exactly what to say~ and yes I did wear a size bigger and the clothes I have now are loose so I am sure I am losing inches but you know how it is when you want that darn number to move!! LOL And I am not a daily weigher thank goodness.  I only weigh about once a week sometimes every 2 weeks depending on when I get near the scale.  It's pretty easy since I work in a clinic~!!  I am just so thankful for this board! I don't get as much time on here as I would like since I started my new job but its all worth it!!  THanks again so much Tracy I appreciate it very much!   Kristi
