Really shaky, what does this mean?

Sounds to me like a mild case of dumping - the mini wheats probably have too many carbs/sugars in it for you.  Usually the milk sugars aren't going to affect you as much as the carbs/sugars from the cereal (according to my NUT).  When that happens to me, I just eat some protein (just the beef stick - no crackers), but the best thing to do is to contact your surgeons office and get some advice from them.  Best of luck - it is a full time job keeping up with what will affect you and not, but it is SOOOOOO worth it!

Kelly,  sounds similar to what happens to me when I dump, thank goodness thats only happened a couple times, yesterday being one of them...ohh it was bad!!!

I just drink lots of extra water, (I think I am trying to convince myself that it flushes bad stuff out quicker) and rest if possible. Hope you feel better.

Betsy, Missed you at coffee last night. Our farewell to Miss Lucy..........She was on cloud nine! I really do think it was from the sugar, I got a little worried, I've never had such shaky hands before. This WLS sure does bring you on quite a ride....... Kelly

Kelly...I am glad you are stopping the cereal. I agree probably too much sugar! I planned on being there last night at MG coffee and a friend side tracked me  just before I was ready to leave. She needed to use my computer to file her income tax. She always waits until the very last moment for everything. She had no internet service so I had no choice but to help her out. She couldn't do it today because of some meetings she needed to attend. I was very disappointed....I really wanted to see all of you easpecially Lucy before she left on her trip. Oh well I guess it wasn't meant to be. i am sure you had a great time!! Hugs, connie d

Sounds like you got some great advice here.  I have felt that way once when I ate a small bowl of my beloved Grape Nuts Trail Mix Crunch (with raisins and almonds) cereal.   SOOO yummy going down but I felt a bit shaky after and I haven't felt like that cereal since because I thought there was  connection between the dizzyness and the cereal.  Go****s good cereal though!   If you are bored with eggs, try string cheese or get some of that pre-cooked bacon and throw a piece or two in the microwave.  Quick and easy and you get the protein and the yum!  Sometimes I roast some raw almonds in my toaster oven (about a half of a serving (one serving is 1/4 cup so half that) by lightly coating with a tsp of olive oil in one baggy then laying on foil and shaking with a bit of salt.  Sometimes I eat them by themselves as a snack or I'll toss them in salad with a bit of cooked chicken breast and cheese - no dressing. Hang in there!   Michelle
