OT: Update on my son

{{{{{{{{{{{{{Kathi}}}}}}}}}}}}}}  I hadn't heard, but am saddened to hear that you, your son, and the rest of your family are going through this.   Prayers and blessings to all of you to get through the toughest times, and hope that this incident can help your son to realize that NOTHING is worth taking his life for, and maybe he can help someone in the future that is going through the same thing. 

I had no idea - and I'm SO SORRY that you are going through this experience!  I think that, as parents, the most horrific fear we face is a child that feels their life is without hope.  I know I hear things come out of my daughter's mouth sometimes that really frighten me, but I stay with her, and we talk, and we both always seem to come away from those moments feeling a LOT BETTER about the love we share.   I pray that your son can find peace, hope and lots of reasons to live!

Kathi, I am so sorry to hear that your son is going through such a difficult time.  Having been there many times myself I know what that darkness of hopelessness and helplessness feel infinite when one is in them.  I am really glad to hear that he is now on medication and seeking therapy the combination of the two is usually the best way to recovery!  You, your son and your whole family are in my prayers.
