When you posted Anti-inflamatory, I got worried.  I'm so glad you found out it was a NSAID and quit taking it.  I'm not sure it would have done damage yet, but it would be good to check with your surgeon.  Take care of you!

Pam, I'm calling Dr. Jeffs nurse tomorrow. Yikes, my family Dr. must not know what he can and cannot give me. That's kinda scary......... Kelly

My totally un-educated guess is that the Mobic is causing hunger.  Can you switch to something else? Of course, be sure you get your dense protein in first, and make sure you get in enough water.  Apparently, people mistake dehydration for hunger and eat when they should be drinking! Good luck, Sweetie! (((HUGS))) **SUE**

Sue, I was only taking the Mobic because I fell on the ice 2 months ago and hurt my tailbone, He took an x-ray but it showed nothing, it's just swollen back there.......I'll talk to my family Dr. when I get my B1 shot and tell him I can't have NSAID's, and see if he can give me something else.  I know I need to drink more water, I only get in about 40 oz. Thanks, Kelly

I was prescribed an anti-inflammatory and a steroid when I recently had a major TMJ flare-up, and I ran it by Dr. Baker before taking it.  His comment was, "I'm really not a fan of that stuff."  Enough said for me.  i began physical therapy, took tylenol, and used heat and massage to get the inflammation down.  Did it take longer than it could have?  Probably, but I want to be careful with what I put in my body.  He did tell me once, though, that for instances of severe pain, cramps, etc, we would probably be ok to take some anti-inflammatory's, as long as it was done sparinigly.  So, unless you notice changes in your BM's or in your ability to keep food down and such, you should be alright.  Just keep in mind that many, if not most,  MD's and other specialist's have no clue what bariatrics patients should and should not take.  There is that handy list of no-no meds in our blue books that you could take with you to appts, if that would help.  At least, I think it's in our books, if it's not we should be able to get a copy from the surgery center.  I know I've seen a list somewhere.

It's never too late—in fiction or in life—to revise.   Nancy Thayer

Christi, Thanks for posting. I'm going to ask Sandy tomorrow for that list and give a copy to my family Dr. so this doesn't happen again. Whew, I've been just a little nervous.......... Kelly
