Waiting, waiting, waiting

Hello All: Have not posted in awhile, but am here everyday.  I was approved on March 5th and am still waiting for a surgery date.  I've called the office twice, and they can't even hint at a date.  I guess there is just one surgeon at this time (St. Mary's Duluth) and that's why the back log.  Is any one else feeling frustrated about the long wait?  I have Dr. Medlin. I'm from Duluth and went to the support group at St Mary's a couple of weeks ago.   The big news was they did hire another surgeon finally so hopefully things will get moving again.   Poor Dr Medlin's been on his own for a long time.   I have a friend having lap band at St Luke's in less than 2 wks.    I sure hope you hear soon.   You should watch this site we've gotten quite a nice group of people that have started doing a coffee group here in Duluth...you would be very welcome to join us.   I think we had like 12 people last time and one was someone just like you waiting and waiting.  Hmm it's been 2 wks since that meeting we should do another one soon.   Good luck on your wait....you should be hearing soon I hope.

Hang in there dear!!  IT WILL HAPPEN!!  Waiting is the toughest part!  In the meantime PRACTICE! PRACTICE! PRACTICE!!!   Hugs!

Waiting sucks! But it will happen before you know it.

I agree with the rest waiting is hard to do, but you will be glad you did once you have had the surgery and start using your new tool!  I am glad to hear that St. Mary's got another surgeon, hopefully that will speed up your process a bit.  Good luck! 

Waiting is the hardest when you want something so badly. Your time will come just keep hanging in there. With another doctor it shouldn't be too much longer.

How very frustrating!  I'm so sorry to hear that you're being put through this.  Just know that it WILL happen when it's suppose to.  You HAVE been approved and now the waiting...well, that's definately the hard part.  Sounds like good news though that they have another doctor now. Take a deep  breath and call every week or a couple times every week.  They may just get sick of you calling and get you a date sooner. 

Hello Lillysummer, Congratulations on your approval and I have been in your shoes as well, and yes it is very frustrating but as Michelle stated before they have hired another surgeon.  Hopefully, things will begin to go more smoothly @ SMDC in regards to the surgery dates being provided sooner than later.  You should try to come to the support meetings @ SMDC on Thursday April 24th its at 6:00 p.m. in the Auditorium, you can get more info from one of the support staff members on where the surgeries stand.  Just thought I would put it out there, would be great to meet you!  And, if you're not able to attend the meeting you should try for when we have coffee as Michelle previously stated we have been able to get more peope from the Duluth/Cloquet areas to get together in recent times.
