Refridgerator-less snacks?
Like I mentioned in the protein bars post, I don't have access to refrigeration at work and the lunch bag sucks :-) I don't want to go get another one right now so am looking for ideas.
I have taken to work:
a 2oz bag of nuts
a couple of string cheese
jerky in all kinds of flavors
protein bars
ok this is getting really old lol Does anyone have ideas of things that can be taken for snacks/lunch that don't need to be kept super cold? I'm really getting tired of the above lol
Thanks for your help!
Soy crisps in a multitude of flavors, including apple cinnamon - my favorite! (by Genisoy - in the natural food section at Cub, not sure where you could get them up nort!)
Just the Cheese snacks - you can buy them at Amazon.com, I love 'em!
Reduced fat peanut butter & something to eat it on! (I can do celery, and I like all the chewing it requires - keeps my mouth busy without eating as much!)
And at the risk of sounding like I'm scolding you... isn't your health and this whole WLS journey WORTH a trip to the store to buy a good, insulated lunch bag? Or a thermos for milk? Or a small Igloo-type cooler and an ice block? You have to make yourself a priority, and if buying any of these things will help you, then JUST DO IT!!!

Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
I didn't think of the soy crisps! I do have a couple of bags here! Thanks for reminding me :)
As for the lunch bag... work and I are having a few disagreements and I'm not sure how much longer I'll be there :( Although I suppose I'll need one for whatever job I'm working at! Guess I hadn't thought of that... been focusing on just being at work *sigh*
PB& maybe some SFJ on celery sounds like a great treat!! yummy!
Thanks hun!! Great ideas!
Unfortunately no access to anything. Due to some vertigo issues, I'm not allowed to go up and down the stairs at work where I may pose a safety issue to myself or others... so I don't have access to any sort of lunch room stuff. Really sucks :(
The stuff you listed looks wonderful though and I'm keeping a list for when I DO have access to thing simple things at work :) Thanks!!
This might sound silly but Gerber makes these snacks for toddlers that are pretty healthy, they chew up really well (my twins have no teeth and they handle them really well) but anyway they have crackers made with whole grain in a veggie flavor, theres 30 calories in 12 crackers. really there not bad, I like them too.
