Exercise
No flaming pa-lease!!! So...I am fessing up- have not exercised yet! I hate it! I walk sometimes, but not a good cardio walk, just a "look at the tree's, look at the clouds" kind of walk. I have a treadmill, but doesn't interest me. Used a medicine ball- no fun unless I am using it only as a chair. Tried workout videos but have no coordination, so can't keep the rythem and can't even get it close. I spend most of my time wathcing tv while doing laundry etc... I have been sluffing now for 4 months. Any ideas? Looking for something that doesn't require coordination or buying a piece of equiptment. I was thinking a little step box. You know the things you step on, step off-no, no,not the scale

I have to make myself get on the treadmill. if I didn't I wouldn't be loosing thw weight.
You have a treadmill, perfect. Start out slow 15 minutes 3 times a day. Then keep increasing the time and speed etc.
This 1st year is our "Honeymoon" stage, after that from what I've heard it gets harder to loose, so my advice is do what you can now, get on somekind of exercise program, the longer you wait the harder it will be to do.
Hope this helps a little. Kelly
I love my treadmill. It's conveniently parked in front of a TV set so I can watch my favorite programs while getting a good brisk walk and before I know it, my workout is done because I make it fun by watching something I like to watch while I exercise. I hated exercise before too, but once we bought the treadmill and I made it a habit, I just hate missing a day of it. I feel so much better too. Can you put your treadmill by a TV? Or do you have an iPod or walkman you can listen to while walking to make the time go faster? Once you get in the habit, you will want to continue and you'll see results both physically and how you feel energy wise. Good luck!!! (((Hugs)))

If you are looking for something to do at home I would suggest investing in the "WAlk Away the Pounds" videos by Leslie Sansone. You walk in place and do side steps, kicks and knee lifts all to really upbeat music. The videos are different some pull in the use of resistance bands, some are longer distance than others so you can choose what you would like or have a variety to keep things interesting. The really nice thing is she encourages everyone to go at their own pace and shows how to adapt what they are doing if you are not there yet. The music sets the pace so all youhave to do is step to the beat and you get a really good cardio workout! I use these when the weather is crappy and I can't get to the gym. But, if you are looking for something out doors since the weather is getting nicer I would reccomend getting a portable cd/tape player and get some upbeat music and walk to the music this will help you go at a faster pace so you can really get a good workout. Also remember you want to work on toning so if you have any weights at home start using those as well.
I belong to the YWCA and go to the aqua abs and aqua aerobics classes there on Mondays and Wenesdays (except for the 2nd & 4th of the month because those are PNC support group nights) other days I workout my upper or lower body (alternating each day) and then depending on the weather I will either use the elliptical machine or go for a walk (or hopefully soon rollerblade) around Lake Calhoun.
I hope this helps and I hope that you are able to find something you really enjoy doing and can run with it!
